Here in Singapore where we have a large Chinese population, we’re on public holiday till tomorrow. Hence my blog is also taking a blogging break for today.
I shall be back to blogging again from tomorrow with more toy news, toy collecting tips and toy reviews etc. that I can find! Happy Holidays!
It’s the first day of Chinese New Year today, which also happily coincides withValentine’s Day this year. This coincidence happens only once every x number of decades!
Happy New Yearto everyone who celebrate Chinese New Year!According to the Chinese Lunar calendar, 2010 is year of theTiger!
And Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone as well!
The traditional Chinese New Yearcelebrations in the olden days actually last for 15 days. The Chinese back then didn’t rest on Saturdays and Sundays until the introduction of the western calendars to this part of the word.
Hence when they have festive celebrations likeChinese New Year, the holiday period usually lasted for many days. Besides, people in those days needed time to travel vast distances back to their hometowns across China for reunion dinners (held on the eve) and annual gatherings with their families and relatives.
Today and here in Singapore, the first 2 days ofChinese New Yearare public holidays. Hence many businesses and retail outlets here (and in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan especially) are closed for the holidays. The stock markets in these countries are closed as well.
Just like the previous years, my blog will take a break today and tomorrow (14 & 15 Feb 2010), while ToyzToSell.comstill remains open for business. Please feel free to send in your email enquiries about my toys for sale there and you will be attended to on these 2 days as well.
Please note thatToy Outpost will be closed on 14 & 15 Feb 2010, and will re-open on 16 Feb 2010. I’ll also be re-stocking my toy lockers this coming week, hence you can check them out for new ponies and other toys by next weekend!
Attention all fans and collectors of Hasbro’s Transformers Revenge of the Fallen (ROTF) toyline! Hasbro has revealed the list of its upcoming Transformers toyline at the recent Toy Fair 2010 in New York City, US.
The following are the YouTube videos of the ROTF toys we expect to see at mass retail for 2010, filmed at Toy Fair 2010:
Toy Fair 2010: ROTF Deluxe Class Figures preview -
Battle Blade Bumblebee(another one to add to my collection!), Jetblade(repainted ROTF Deluxe Dirge), Ironhide (he looks nicer than ROTF Deluxe Ratchet!), Thrust (wow he’s got huge wing missiles!) & Drift(fans of this car model will adore him!).
ToyFair 2010: ROTF Battle Ops Bumblebee preview -
He’s not a rumour anymore, he’s real and coming soon! And probably expensive too.
Toy Fair 2010: ROTF Legends Class Figures preview - coming in 3rd quarter of 2010.
Ravage (he’s very cute!), Long Haul(wow I’m surprised he’s in a new mold, considering Hasbro’s favourite practice of using repaints instead), Rampage (another new mold, yay!), Bumblebee (a repaint) and Fireblast Optimus Prime (a repaint).
Toy Fair 2010: ROTF Leader Class preview - Starscream(did he poke his head into the fireplace!?), Buster Optimus Primeetc.
We also see a glimpse of ROTF Human Alliance (HA) Jazz w/Captain Lennox figures and a repackage of ROTF HA Bumblebee w/Sam figures (see next video); a yellow repaint of ROTF Voyager Long Haul and ROTF Voyager Ratchet(he also looks charred, did the staff retrieve this toy from a bbq pit!?).
Toy Fair 2010: ROTF Human Alliance Jazz w/Captain Lennox Figures preview -
We see the next Transformers movie toy series after ROTF NEST is “Hunt for the Decepticons”, in new yellow packaging.
HA Bumblebee w/Sam figures will be re-released, this time accompanied by HA Jazz w/Captain Lennox figures, and a dark colored bike!
So I supposed that leaves a possible HA Jolt with Leo figures in the near future!
Toy Fair 2010: ROTF Scout Class Figures preview -
Quoted from Seibertron.com: Hubcap (looks like Greaser, turns into 1950s roadster), Brimstone (looks like Cybertron version but transforms into a chopper - motorcycle), Crankstart (Beachcomber mold), Backfire (Knock Out repaint), Insecticon (from the movie) and Breacher (meant to team up with Voyager class).

Following yesterday’s blog post, here are some more video reviews of the latest Transformers Revenge of the Fallen (ROTF) toys for your viewing pleasure!
ROTF Deluxe Lockdown toy review - This figure doesn’t look like he belongs in the ROTF toyline, more of to the Transformers Animated (TFA) toyline instead.
The following Transformers Revenge of the Fallen (ROTF) Deluxe figures have been spotted at our local departmental stores in the past few weeks. They are part of ROTF Deluxe figures wave 9.
These are their video reviews posted on YouTube for your viewing pleasure!
This has been a very busy week for me. There are still parts of my home that I have not thoroughly spring cleaned yet. Bags of recyclables like paper and flattened carton boxes are lying around awaiting the recycling truck to come by. If not I’ll have to lug them to the recycling bins soon.
My toys that are on display in the open have been scrambling madly for suitable “hiding places”. This is done every year to ”protect” them from the young children of visitors who would by drop by my place during Chinese New Year (14-16 February 2010).
Although I know that toys are originally made to be played with my kids, but once they are MY toys, they are out bounds to all children. Yes, I’m that “territorial” and protective of my toys collection!
Once the Chinese New Year celebrations and house visiting are over, my toys will be “set free” into the open once more. Till then, they shall stay “safe” (from manhandling by kids) in their temporary storage places allocated to them!
