ROTF Deluxe Recon Ravage action figure in Singapore!

ROTF Deluxe Recon Ravage action figure .

This toy sighting came as a surprise for me.  In the US, Transformers Revenge of the Fallen (ROTF) Deluxe REcon Ravage action figure is supposed to be a mail order toy.  But in Canada, Australia and now right here in Singapore, he’s available to everyone at a mass retail store!  This one was spotted this week on Friday at the TRU outlet right in the middle of Orchard Road!  How nice!

I was at the store with LEon that day to see this ROTF Deluxe Recon Ravage toy in person.  LEon was very quick to point out that Ravage’s hind legs do not have the chrome silver finishing that are present on his front legs and on the guns mounted on his hindquarters, as seen in his back card photo.  What a letdown!

Anyway when I took Recon Ravage to the cashier to check the price, I was informed that he costs SGD 27.90.  I forgot to ask if I get another ROTF Deluxe toys, will he qualify for the “3 for SGD 50.00″ ROTF Deluxe toys sale that the store is currently having.  If you are keen to get this colorful panther, you might wish to confirm with the staff before you buy.

Happy toys shopping!

Many thanks to LEon for helping me to secure these 2 latest Transformers Hunt for the Decepticons (HFTD) Legends figures from TRU Suntec City yesterday!

He bought a Ravage for himself and I look forward to seeing his review on this little kitty soon.  For me, I still want to admire these 2 HFTD Legends figures in their packaging for some time more, before opening them.

Happy HFTD toys shopping!

LEGO fair at Centrepoint - ‘extended’ displays

Following part 1 & part 2 of my earlier blog posts this week about the LEGO Fair at Centrepoint, here are the rest of the photos I took of the LEGO displays and observations there.  Enjoy!

I’ll probably visit the LEGO fair again to admire these LEGO displays once more, before they are taken away.  When I was there this week, I couldn’t stay long after taking these photos as I had to go for my next appointment.

If you haven’t visited the LEGO fair yet, I highly encourage you to do so soon.  After all, viewing them is free!  Happy LEGO toys admiring and shopping!

Many of my close up photos caught too much reflection of the display case.  Hence I can’t show the detailed photographs of all the LEGO scenes there.  It’s really so much better that you’re there to view all these spectacular LEGO landscape displays in person!

Besides the numerous LEGO landscape displays, there are also many shelves of current LEGO products on sale, with some combined city sets selling at discounted prices.  They will be there for a limited time only, so hurry down this weekend, while they are still there.  Happy LEGO toys shopping!

Transformers Generations Deluxe action figures in Singapore!

I’m not familiar with these 2 non-movie 2010 Transformers toylines, but I saw their shipment boxes all stacked up in the TRU outlet at Vivo City yesterday.  Too bad I couldn’t stay longer to wait for the staff to unpack the boxes. However from what I read on the shipment boxes, these are some of what were contained inside those boxes:

Transformers Generations Deluxe action figures - wave 1.

Transformers Generations Deluxe action figures - wave 1 - SGD 27.90 each

(War for Cybertron aka WFC: Autobot Drift, Bumblebee, Thrust & Optimus Prime)

I peeked into an opened box and saw Autobot Drift inside, so the rest inside must be the other 3!  There are 8 pieces per box with 2 each of the 4 designs.

Transformers Power Core Combiners Ultra - wave 1.

Transformers Power Core Combiners Ultra - wave 1 - SGD 39.90 each

(Bombshock w/Combaticons & Skyburst w/Aerial Bots)

As I’m totally unfamiliar with the Power Core Combiners, I can only guess that these are the figures in those shipment boxes.  The labels stated “wave 1 revision 1″ for Power Core Combiners, and each piece is about the size of a Voyager Class box, but flatter.  I’ll check out the stores again this week to see them on the shelves in person and confirm.

Latest update: The above Transformers toys are indeed the ones at TRU and other major deparmental stores in Singapore now!

Happy toys shopping everyone!

Transformers HFTD toys have arrived in Singapore!

The following Transformers Hunt for the Decepticons (HFTD) toys were spotted at TRU Singapore today!  They were all still in their shipment boxes and not on the shelves yet, but I saw them at the Vivo City outlet.  I roughly knew what were contained inside those boxes by reading the labels.  All of them are “wave 1 revision 1″ assortments.

How about you?  What new toys are you waiting for release now?

5 things to do during a toy ‘drought’

A toy ‘drought’ is when the toylines you collect hadn’t had new toys that you are interested to buy, or the toy company hadn’t release anything new for a period of time.  Hence, you’ve got nothing to buy and become bored, which breaks your routine of exciting toy hunting.  Here is a list article that is built up from another similar article I wrote last year:

Marvel Universe Colossus action figure.

1) Firstly, you can take a break from rushing to the stores to buy your toys and spend quality time with your loved ones perhaps.  Or other aspects of your life that you had severely neglected while you indulged too deeply in your toy chasing hobby, like unfinished tasks and projects you had always wanted to do but didn’t have the time to do so.

2) Save up your monthly toy budget and keep it aside for better toys to come in the future.  There will surely be something fancy to drift into your ‘want ‘net’ sooner or later!  Always save up enough toy funds to splurge during a sale!

3) Or you can re-allocate some unused monthly toy funds to other enjoyments in life, like a nice hearty meal, a short weekend trip (to sight see or perhaps to buy more toys) with someone special.

4) Play with your toys, re-arrange your toy displays, clean your toys if they are covered in dust, or pull out your toys from storage to check on them and see how they are faring.  It feels good to admire your prized possessions every now and then, and look back on your past “achievements”!

5) Photograph your favourite toys and post their photos online to share with other toy collectors.  You can also start shortlisting the potential toy candidates to grace your top 10 favorite toys of 2010 list by the end of the year, like many local toy collectors do since 2008!

Bonus: Not a favorite with most people but very important - record and maintain your toy accounts to keep track of your monthly toy expenditures.  This can help you to “stay on the budget path” and not “stray out of budget”!

Do feel free to share more suggestions on other things to do during a toy ‘drought’!

Have you ever felt “after toy purchase remorse” before?

Marvel Universe Modern Thor action figure.

Well, this usually happens for toylines that you are really into collecting.  But sometimes so many purchases of these “too fantastic to miss out” goodies all happening at around the same time, you suddenly feel kind of remorseful for spending quite a sum of $$.

However, you know that if you don’t strike while the iron is hot and secure those toys at the special prices before you, you’ll regret it even more when they are sold out.  So in way, both buying and not buying the toys make you feel bad, but you can’t help it.

Has this kind of “guilty of spending too much on toys” feeling happened to you before?  Feel free to share your toy buying experiences here!
