If you collect this Transformers Power Core Combiners (PCC) Scout toys series, you will be pleased to know that there are 2 more new characters in this upcoming wave 4.  So far in Singapore departmental stores, I’ve only see up to wave 3.  If you are waiting for this set to come to town, they should be on clearance sale like their predecessors too!  Happy PCC toys collecting!

…If you had visited my blog a couple of days ago, you would have noticed that you had no access to it at all.  My apologies for the non display of information during that frantic period.  My blog was indeed down after my failed attempt to upgrade my Wordpress version.  As it turned out, the latest Wordpress version isn’t compartible with the current template that I’m using.  Hence my blog couldn’t load even though all my years of data were intact.

I have to clarify it had nothing to do with my webhost provider.  Nevertheless, they were very swift in their solution replies to me but being unfamiliar with technicalities, I couldn’t really grasp everything they mentioned.  But in the end my blog was restored and I’m relieved to get it back online again.  Basically I had to uninstall that latest incompatible Wordpress version and re-install the old version that I had been using all this while and that was it!

Thinking back about when my blog first disappeared from my domain, I had indeed panicked for a while but as the hours went by, I was kinda prepared to accept the possibility that nearly 3 years of blogging posts could be lost forever.  I had done my back up but because I couldn’t see anything online, it sort of felt that everything had been lost already…

Then a wave of calmness swept over me as I sat there and I felt a kind of “release”.  After all I had been like a “slave” to my blog almost daily for the past few years, as I strived to post something everyday.  Then I gradually had nothing much new to mention about toy collecting, hence I started to blog on alternate days since last month.  

This new alternate day blogging is a much better arrangement for me and I hope my readers are well with it too.  I don’t know how long more am I going to continue blogging about toys, but at the moment I am still going on with it.  Who knows like many toy collectors and bloggers I know, this is going to be a life long hobby for me!  Happy toy collecting and blogging everyone!

Transformers Power Core Combiners (PCC) toys - wave 4

Following yesterday’s posting of Transformers Power Core Combiners (PCC) Grimstone (w/Dinobots) from wave 4 of this toy series, here is a summary of the earlier waves of PCC toys that are out in the departmental stores right now.  Their original price tag was SGD 39.90.  Now all of them are selling for SGD 29.90!

Like I mentioned yesterday for Grimstone, the individual smaller vehicles for each PCC set can only transform between their vehicle modes and larger robot limbs modes.  They do not have their individual robot modes.  So do be aware that those are “double changers” and not “triple changers”.

Transformers Power Core Combiners Grimstone (w/Dinobots)

I haven’t seen this Transformers Power Core Combiners (PCC) box set in local departmental stores yet.  Perhaps they are selling here already but I didn’t notice them.  For fans and collectors who love robots, dinosaurs and both of them mixed together as Dinobots, you may like this set!  They are expected to be available at mass retail stores by this year end.

Do note that like all the PCC sets released before this, the individual Dinobots can only transform between their Dinosaur modes and larger robot limbs modes.  The Dinobots do not have their own individual robot modes.  Meanwhile the earlier waves of PCC toys are selling at reduced prices of SGD 29.90 per box set at local departmental stores now.  Go get them while stocks last!

Another new wave of Transformers WFC is coming to stores soon and it contains the above figures, both new ones and repaints.  If you also collect this range of Transformers toys, happy collecting as I expect even more waves to come after this!  As I only collect the figures that are portrayed in the 2 Transformers movies, I give this WFC series a miss.  But I have to admit that some of the WFC figures do look quite good, at least in the photos.  Wait you see the real things to confirm your liking.  Till they come, happy toys collecting!

RTS Voyager action figures - wave 1

These are the first wave of Reveal the Shield (RTS) Voyager class figures.  I find the characters here quite interesting despite 2 of them being repaints again.  They all have rather vibrant colors that make them stand out. 

Lugnut looks to be in new mold here.  Both the plane and robot modes are very nice looking, better than the Transformers Animated version that had been the long time shelf warmer here last year.

Hopefully fans and collectors will like Solar Storm Grappel, who is in similar colors as the yellow RTS box packaging, LOL!

I nearly bought Strafe’s predecessor Mindwipe some months ago but didn’t.  Maybe I’ll pick Strafe instead as he looks very brightly colored instead of having the regular dark greyish stealth colors like Mindwipe.

With the HFTD Voyager class figures dropping down in price to SGD 29.90 in our local departmental stores, I wonder if new waves of such RTS Voyager class figures will be at these lowered prices too.  Hopefully they will be, and when then do come, go and grab your most coveted figures as soon as possible to avoid possible disappointment of finding them sold out.

Marvel Universe action figures - wave 11

This Wave 11 case includes 12 action figures (subject to change) and they are:

Top row (from left) - Colossus, Constrictor, Ghost Rider & Hawkeye (Dark Avengers)

Middle row (from left) - Iron Spider-Man,  Juggernaut, Iron Man 2020 & Yellow Jacket with Mini Antman 

Bottom row (from left) - Team X Wolverine,  Iron Man, Spider-Man (Red/Blue) & Thanos

Seeing the above Marvel action figures makes me want to collect them again!  If you love Marvel Comics characters and like to collect their toys, this toyline has to be one of the best ones to collect!  Despite the fact that many of these 3.75-inch Hasbro action figures tend to have poorer paint jobs than acceptable by collectors’ standards, this toyline is still very popular among fans and collectors here and worldwide.

There is also the tendency among collectors who do collect this toyline, to adopt the ‘collecting completist’ strategy, that is to collect each and all the figures ever made, including the variants and exclusives!  Each of these figures cost SGD 18.90 here, hence this is quite a costly toyline to collect.  If you have been collecting from no. 01 Iron Man figure of the “Fury Files” series till now, your investment is quite substantial by now.  Hasbro is now at the later part of the “Hammer Files” series already!

The new characters of wave 11 are Constrictor, Hawkeye (Dark Avengers),  Iron Man 2020, Yellow Jacket with Mini Antman & Thanos.  Oh gosh, these little figures may small as individuals, but more than 20 of them displayed together can look quite a lot.  It would look fantastic if you have a proper display space for your collection so as to bring out the best in them as your well loved Marvel Superheroes and Supervillains!  This wave is expected to be scheduled for mass retail release by this year end or latest in early next year.  Happy toys collecting! 

Marvel Universe action figures - wave 12

The photos for wave 11 aren’t available yet so here’s a preview of wave 12 first.  This time, the new figures are: World War Hulk, Captain Marvel & Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Woman, Doc Sampson (Isn’t this character also known as Wonder Man?) & Iron Man.  Spider-Man 2099 reminds me of Archangel without wings while the new Iron Man looks great!  But my favourite of this wave has to Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew)!  I fondly remember watching her Spider-Woman cartoons on TV when I was a kid!

The full wave 12 including the repeated figures (Original Captain America, Modern Thor & Iron Man) from previous waves is shown above.  Wave 12 is expected to be available in mass retail stores in January 2011, though I think it may come in earlier by a month.  By then, I hope to be able to get hold of Spider-Woman for my collection!

RTS Legends action figures - wave 2

 (Trailcutter, Optimus, Starscream, Prowl, Gold Bumblebee & Megatron)

Wave 2 of the upcoming Transformers Reveal the Shield (RTS) Legends figures has 2 new figures - Trailcutter and Prowl.  The rest are repeated figures from wave 1.  This toyline is expected to be popular with fans and collectors here.  I’m so looking forward to adding this series of Transformers toys to my Legends collection!  They should be appearing in our local departmental stores soon within the next 2 months before Christmas.  Happy waiting for them!
