A new toy place to check out in town
There’s a new place in town where toy shops selling all kinds of action figures, figurines, statues, dolls, etc., had started since end-September 2008. That place is at the 7th floor of Plaza Singapura, next to the temporary box office of Golden Village Cinema. The original box office is being renovated and will move back to its original spot after renovations.

For those of you who have been there, you will know that the space opposite the original box office used to be just a walkway with no shops. The management office of Plaza Singapura used to be there but they have since shifted to somewhere to the 3rd floor. Now that freed up space has been converted to a row of stores selling toys, video games, and medieval swords, to cater to the movie-goers crowd.
I was informed about this new toy place by the boss of Simply Toys, Anne some time last month. I used to rent a locker space at the former Simply Toys outlet at Far East Plaza a few years back and that’s how I got to know her. Anne’s a great person to chat with. I admire her business acumen plus her passion for toys and wanting the best for toy collectors as well.
Anyway, there is now a new Simply Toys outlet (more of a toy ‘museum’ concept) at the 7th floor of Plaza Singapura, plus its sister shop next door known as Toy Outpost (provides locker rental space for merchants to sell their stuff). Merchants don’t necessarily have to sell toys at Toy Outpost but most are selling toys there now. All non-toy merchandise just need to be original and licensed products.
I’ve already resumed renting locker space there. If you are keen to check out the place or have plans to sell off some of your excess toy collections, you can consider renting a locker space at Toy Outpost from as little as SGD 60.00 per month. More details and contact info can be found at their Simply Toys Blog.
