‘Blue Art’ Collector Ponies arrived!

This lot of 3 MIB ‘Blue Art’ Collector My Little Ponies arrived this week from the US. My pony collector friends and I ordered them from Hasbro Toy Shop last month. We had shipped the ponies to a US pony collector friend first, before having it shipped to Singapore because Hasbro Toy Store does not ship to non-US addresses. It took nearly 3 weeks for this parcel to arrive at my home.

At around the same time last month, my pony collector friend ordered some MIB Twinkle Hope My Little Pony from Hasbro Toy Store and this time she used vPost. The parcel also arrived this week on the same day as the ‘Blue Art’ Collector Ponies. However her shipping charges were higher because apparently, vPost charged her by box size instead of weight. I think we are better off shipping through a US friend.

From the threads and postings on the largest My Little Pony forum MLP Arena, I already knew that ‘Blue Art’ Collector Pony will come in a larger box than the other exclusive ponies I got this year, such as SDCC 2008 Pony and MLP Fair 2008 Pony. However Blue Art’s packaging was more excessive than I thought.

Here we have Blue Art and her inner packaging taken out of her box. See how small she is compared to her oversized box? I know that being a collectors’ edition of My Little Pony, she is expected to come in a more special-looking box but I find that the normal pony-sized boxes used for the earlier exclusive ponies were just nice. It’s a bit wasteful to use some much more packaging material for such a small toy. It’s not like the art on the box is that fantastic.

See? Blue Art’s box is about 3 times the size of the other regular pony-sized boxes. I’d rather Hasbro has put Blue Art in a matching size box so that her box can fit in with the rest of the exclusive pony boxes we’ve had so far. Needless to say, the shipping costs would have been much lesser too with a smaller box.

All 3 exclusive ponies that I’ve gotten so far this year are posing together in this photo. We have SDCC 2008 Pony on the left and MLP Fair 2008 Pony on the right. Both are still available online at around USD 30.00+. ‘Blue Art’ Collector Pony is being sold at Hasbro Toy Shop at USD 19.99 with a 10% discount code “Pony10″, but take note that it only ships within the US. You can also buy her from Entertainment Earth at USD 14.49 and they ship internationally.
