Cartoon DVDs haul and upgrade
With the economic slowdown, many shops are having massive sales and discounts to clear their stocks. One of the most prominent sales has to be from the DVD and VCD vendors! There’s practically a price war going on to clear out the soon-to-be obsolete VCDs, and enormous discounts on most DVD titles.
In just this week alone, I’ve bought like close to 10 DVDs (on separate occasions) at less than SGD 10.00 each! The above photo shows some of them. They are all upgrades, that is to replace my existing VCD collection of my favourite cartoon movies with DVD versions. DVDs used to be so expensive that I just made do with my VCDs for a long while, even though I had to change the disc halfway through the movie!
Now with the DVD prices being slashed to so low, you can get many of the latest and even older titles of both popular and obscure cartoons and movies for very affordable prices. Of course not all the cheap DVDs have the nice covers and special functions of the very original versions from the USA. Some DVDs are those parallel imports with both English and Chinese words on the covers. However the movie quality is still ok, that is, if you’re not a collector who must insist on owning only the very original versions, etc.
Just this week, I’ve been watching some of those DVDs that I’ve just bought to test them out, and also to re-live those happy memories of why I love those shows so much! I’m still on the hunt for some more cartoons and movies but the prices of those remaining DVD titles that I’m looking for have not gone below SGD 10.00 each. I’ll wait till they do and then go in for the ‘kill’!

There are indeed many interesting movies coming out this year. I’m waiting for the Movie Sideswipe Legends figure! Btw, I find his name kinda like a tongue twister
