Justice League action figures sale!

10-inch tall Justice League action figures on sale.

I was at Carrefour’s Suntec City outlet today and I came across this HUGE ‘mountain’ of 10-inch Justice League action figures on clearance sale!  There had to be close to 500 pieces available, and probably more in their store room.  I’ve never seen so many boxes of these figures at one go before!

According to the promotion tag, the usual price is SGD 24.90 each but now they are on special offer at SGD 14.90 each.  That’s about 40% discount!  At other departmental stores, I’ve seen these same figures of this series priced at SGD 29.90 each.

Here you get to see all the Justice League characters available in this series.  I saw all of them there, except for clear Martian Manhunter.  He could be available but I didn’t search those figures right in the middle of the ‘mountain’, in case I accidentally cause an ‘avalanche’, and especially when I was not planning on buying any of them.

So if you are interested, just make your way to Carrefour at Suntec City to pick up some of your favourite and most wanted Justice League characters.  I don’t know if the other Carrefour outlet at Plaza Singapura has this promotion though.  You can go there to check it out too if it’s convenient for you.

Daily Justice League cartoons on TV ends in Feb 08

I looked up my Cable TV schedule for Mar 08 and realised that the Justice League animated series will not be shown daily next month.  I was a little disappointed as this is one of the few TV shows I watch daily to relax.  Nevertheless on the bright side, I can devote more free time to my studies and take consistent actions towards my goals!

Disappointed with Justice League cartoon ‘episode sequence’

I had been following the ongoing Justice League cartoon series on TV for a the past several months to re-watch and catch the episodes that I had missed previously.  The episodes ‘Starcrossed parts 1-3′ were shown last week, and this story line marked the ‘end’ of featuring just the core 7 members of Justice League team only.

The story line was supposed to continue in a new season called “Justice League Unlimited”, featuring many other new superheroes members as ‘guest stars’.  I had really looked forward to watching “Justice League Unlimited” but after showing only 2 episodes, the Cartoon Network channel reverted to showing the very first episodes of “Justice League” called “Secret Origins”.  It was a major letdown.  Well, at least this frees up my evening times to monitor and trade in the US market.

Thoughts on “Justice League”

I have watched the Justice League cartoon series for a few years already, whenever it was showing on TV.  At first glance, most typical ”non-DC fan” adults are likely to be able to only identify the super famous heroic DC trio of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.  The rest of the cast are relatively unknown to many “DC outsiders”.  Most of such adults would assume that Justice League is a cartoon for small kids only since it stars these 3 famous “cartoon superheroes”.

I used to think that the X-Men and Spiderman animated series had complex plots for kids’ cartoons.  Of all the cartoons that I have watched and still follow, I find that “Justice League” takes the cake at having such a ‘complex’ plot that non-DC fans would be left scratching their heads when they watch most of the episodes.  If adults can get confused, I am sure that little children would not know what is really going on.  I suppose the kids only watch the cartoons for the fighting action scenes and I doubt they understand much of the underlying storyline.

Hawkgirl’s wings

I just re-watched the Justice League episodes “Starcrossed” parts 1-3.  It is about Hawkgirl’s real purpose for coming to Earth.  Her hawk-winged people, the Thanagarians, appeared on Earth in these episodes by the thousands.

I realised that during the flight sequences of Hawkgirl and Thanagarians, their wings hardly flap while these hawk-winged characters are supposed to be hovering…
