Free gifts from the Singapore Toy and Comic Convention 2008

Here are my exclusive Red and White Bearbrick figures that I received as part of the first 1,000 visitors on each day of the recent 2-day Singapore Toy and Comic Convention 2008, which took place on the last weekend.
I arrived early to queue outside the convention hall at 10am on Saturday and on 9am on Sunday. Although I don’t collect Bearbrick toys, I still treasure these 2 little bears because of the special STCC 2008 logos on them.

There were also 4 sessions of free toys redemptions at the Singapore Toy and Comic Convention 2008 and I went to redeem at 3 of the sessions. The above are my ‘trophies’ over the 2 days of free redemption at the convention.
Each visitor could obtain a passport card upon registration and you had to go around the 4 designated booths on each day to collect the 4 different stamps on your passport card. After that, you could redeem the free toys, Magic cards or comics at the designated redemption booth during the timings specified in the given events guide book.
The free toys were very popular with visitors and all the sessions ended within 30min-40min. There were 2-4 different kinds of toys and gifts offered for each redemption session but for some sessions, you couldn’t get to choose which gifts you preferred so as to hasten the queue.
Hence we hope that for next year, the organisers would designate a free-gifts trading corner for visitors to swap their free gifts with others so that everyone had a better chance of receiving their choice gifts.
