Hannah Montana dolls in Singapore

I visited the stores today with hopes of finding more Movie Transformers Bumblebee toys.  There weren’t any available but I did find another line of toys that I had not notice being sold here before.  They are the Hannah Montana dolls, consisting of Hannah Montana herself plus variants of her in other outfits, and the other key characters from the hit Disney TV series.

Hannah Montana is a tremendous sensation in the US and even Europe.  The tickets to her live concerts are said to be always sold out and scalpers would sell the tickets online for many times their original prices.  Parents who couldn’t get hold of her tickets found it hard to break the ‘devastating’ news to their little ones. 

I’m not sure how popular Hannah Montana is in Singapore.  The 1st season of the weekly TV series just started showing on the local kids’ channel just a few weeks ago.  For kids and fans who have Disney Channel at home, they would have watched it for a few years already.  I just started watching the series on Disney Channel since early this year.  I must say that even I got hooked on the show.  The characters are funny and entertaining while the catchy concert song videos can viewed on YouTube.

Unfortunately, the faces of Hannah and Lily dolls were not made to close likeness compared to their respective screen characters.  The male doll for Oliver quite resembles the actor.  Overall I find the outfits and pop star accessories that come with the dolls more cool.  The dolls are almost like Barbie doll’s height, so kids can dress the dolls with clothes from both toy lines. 

According to a commercial on Disney Channel, the Hannah Montana Best of Both Worlds concert tour movie will be screened in many Asian countries except in Singapore.  I was wondering why is this so!?  This concert tour movie followed Hannah where she toured over 50 locations and is viewed in digital 3D.  It was the top grossing movie in the US around Christmas last year.  I know it is out on DVD already but I do hope to view it on Disney Channel soon to satisfy my curiosity about the hype on this movie.
