Fans and collectors of Transformers Revenge of the Fallen (ROTF) toys REJOICE, for Hasbro will indeed have its version of ROTF Legends Devastator!  The news originally came from The Arker.com, where it was picked up and relayed to Seibertron.com

The Hasbro packaging for ROTF Legends Devastator is a mini version of ROTF Supreme Devastator, who came in a similar but much larger box.  This is so cool!  I’m definitely getting this Hasbro version as he looks great to display as a Mint-in-Box (MIB) item!

The EZ Takara versions of the same ROTF Legends Devastator were released a few months back in individual Mint-on-Card (MOC) packaging.  Hence you needed to collect all the 7 different little ROTF Legends Constructicons to form your EZ Takara ROTF Legends Devastator.

The main obstacle to collecting this set of 7 was that each shipment case came with extra pieces of Mixmaster, Long Haul and Scavenger.  Hence once the collector toy stores sold out all their complete sets of 7 little Constructicons,  they were left with these 3 excess Constructicons who were not enough to form a set of 7.  If you only had these 3 extra Contructicons in your collection, it was nearly impossible (or perhaps impossible) to find anyone willing to sell you the other 4 ROTF Legends Constructicons only to complete your set.

Nevertheless, I’m glad that both Hasbro and EZ Takara have different packaging for ROTF Legends Devastator.  For fans and collectors who don’t have him yet, your chance is coming at last!  For those who already acquired the EZ Takara version and still have him MOC, you can consider opening that one to play.

The EZ Takara packaging is designed to be opened much more easily than the average Hasbro MOC ROTF toys.  Then you can get the Hasbro version to keep and display MIB!  It looks so nice in the box that I feel reluctant to take him out of it, LOL!

The retail price and release date for the Hasbro version of ROTF Legends Devastator are still unknown.  I estimate the local retail price to be around 7 x SGD 11.90 (retail price per ROTF Legends toy here), perhaps a bit more but still less than SGD 100.00.  The release date is probably early next year.  Only time will tell.

Meanwhile if you want Hasbro’s ROTF Legends Devastator, start budgeting your monthly toy funds for him now!  Happy waiting and saving up for this / these mean little Decepticon/s!

    Hi Juliana,

The vehicles mode are awesome. They look nice. This legends constructicons have great playability. Maybe should be crowned toy of the year. You should take them out of the box and transform.

    Hi Juliana,

The Hasbro packaging is a lot better since there wouldn’t be any doubles. I hope it will be reasonably priced, my nephew wants me to get him the set. :)

    Hi LEon,

I guess the price range could be between SGD 70.00-90.00 for this box set. 7 x SGD 11.90 is a guideline :)

    Hi Hippo,

I agree that this set will be a hotcake when it comes out. My concern is more of its retail price..

    Hi Someone,

That’s why ROTF Legends Devastator is more movie accurate, if only he also has a red colored head :P

This is a good figure to those who don’t want to buy the Supreme Class Devastator..

    Hi Bany,

Maybe this box set might be out in time for this Christmas! :)

    Hi deSMOnd,

Supreme Class Devastator has his plus points - he’s more in scale with the regular classes of the ROTF toys :D

Btw, I linked the above blog post to your blog to view the MIB photos of your ROTF Supreme Devastator :)

No problem for that. Glad that you have the devastator too :)

    Hi cameron,

Thank you for visiting my blog! :)

I don’t have news of the release date. Like me, perhaps you can check out http://www.seibertron.com/ everyday for the latest updates on all the TF toys, including this one :P

  19. Juliana Heng on November 23rd, 2009

    Hi devestator,

Which one did you get? The EZ version or the Hasbro one? :)

  20. Thomas on November 23rd, 2009

    Hi fellow collectors,

Just wanted to get your insights. If you’re only getting one legends devastator, what would it be? Hasbro’s or Takara Tomy’s? And why?

  21. Juliana Heng on November 25th, 2009

    Hi Thomas,

There aren’t any differences between the 2 versions except for the packaging right? For me, I won’t settle for choices. I’ll get both versions :)

  22. Thomas on March 22nd, 2010

    Hi Juliana,

Sorry for the late rep. I was in a break from collecting, and as well, in a break in researching about TFs. Hehe.

Thanks for the advice. There’s still a lot of Hasbro legends devastator in Philippine toy stores. So I’m going to wait for it to be discounted, and maybe then, will I purchase one. Till then, I’ll stick with my Takara devastator. :)
I’m more interested with the yet to be released Hasbro legends rampage and legends ravage. Would you know how limited they would be? I remember you saying before that each shipped box would only have one legends “the fallen”.

  23. Juliana Heng on March 23rd, 2010

    Hi Thomas,

Me too! I’m waiting to get ROTF Legends Ravage & new Red Rampage. It’s possible but not with certainty that some figures may be short packed. However they tend to turn up again in later revision waves. For me I’ll just buy when I see them to save on the pain of missing out on them :)
