Hot spots for toy purchases during the Great Singapore Sale

The hot spots depend on what toylines you collect.  For parents and kids who are Starcard members with Toys ‘R’ Us (TRU) in Singapore, you should have received their school holiday catalog and even TRU vouchers by now.  TRU always plan a catalog of selected toys for sale at special prices during the school holidays.  Hence you can head there to check out their sale items!

Other ’traditional’ toy hot spots (based on past years) are the large atriums at Ngee Ann City, Suntec City and Plaza Singapura.  Keep a look out for their advertisements in the newspapers for the dates and times of the potential toy sales during this Great Singapore Sale (GSS) and June school holidays period!  The likely sale toys are the leftover toylines from 2009, e.g. Transformers Revenge of the Fallen (ROTF).

Individual departmental stores have also mailed out their sale catalogs to their card members by now.  Usually the sale items will include selected or all the toys they sell.  If certain toylines like LEGO are fixed prices items, some departmental stores will give you store rebates in their receipts for you to use in your next purchase.  You can also look at the newspapers advertisements as a guide on which departmental stores are having special toy sales before heading there.

Collectors’ toy shops may or may not follow the GSS, since most are small businesses.  However, it never hurts to drop by your favourite toy shops during the GSS, just in case you chance upon some bargain toy purchases there!  The GSS is on from now till 25 July 2010.  Happy toys shopping!
