Human Alliance Sideswipe with Sgt Epps action figures photo review

ROTF Human Alliance Sideswipe with Sgt. Epps action figures.

No, don’t get overly excited when you read this blog title, Transformers Revenge of the Fallen (ROTF) Human Alliance (HA) Sideswipe with Sgt Epps action figures haven’t been spotted in Singapore yet.  If they have, please let me know where!  It’s expected to be in the departmental stores sometime in August 2009.

While waiting for their arrival, you might want to check out this cool blog which has a nice collection of detailed photos on them.  You have an added advantage if you can read Chinese.  If not, viewing the photos alone will be good enough to help you decide if you wish to pick up this set!

For me, the upward-opening doors of HA Sideswipe in car mode is enough to help me make up my mind.  He reminds me of the Lamborghini Murcielago, one of my favourite super cars of all times!  I can’t wait to welcome HA Sideswipe to Singapore!

Update: HA Sideswipe w/Sgt Epps have been spotted at Singapore retail stores since mid-July 09!

Update: Video review of HA Sideswipe with Sgt. Epps available on YouTube now!  Let’s take a look at it!

    hey, Juliana…
HA Sideswipe is very cool in car mode only, the robot mode is not that nice yet. Cause the leg length is shorter. This shorted legs make him looks fat & short… May need to re-consider if the leg length is some issue for you.
Btw, how many Transformers figure you collected so far? I bet the numbers not even 10% of you ponies collection. Haha…

    Hi Reagan,

Yeah, HA Sideswipe’s robot mode is indeed disappointing, but despite my criticisms about it, I’m pretty sure I’ll still cave in and get him eventually. He’ll probably be in car mode most of the time. I’ll give him to Mikaela when she arrives, so that she can go car racing against Sam in HA Bumblebee! :D

How many mixed TF toys I have so far? *Looks* at my shelf, table & floor* Since May 09, I’ve got > 10 of them already! This toyline is definitely a strong nominee for my Annual Toy Awards coming up at the end of the year:

It’s arrived. I got mine today

    Hi GWB,

Thank for the confirmation! I received sightings info at some TRU outlets like Suntec City and Vivo City.

How’s HA Sideswipe w/Sgt Epps? Do you like them as much as HA BB w/Sam? :)

    Hi Juliana,

I’ve just bought Human Alliance Sideswipe earlier today at Robinsons Raffles City!!! HA Sideswipe is one solid figure. The car mode especially is very sleek, not showing any gaps unlike the deluxe. Maybe its just me, but I actually think the robot mode for HA Sideswipe looks just as good as the deluxe Sideswipe. It looks better in person than in the photos actually. Transformation from robot to car is kinda complex. Will take some getting used too but its pretty straight forward. Kids will probably have a harder time transforming him. The figure overall is just as fun as HA Bumblebee. The ROTF Human Alliance series continues to impress me..

Here is my somewhat mini review of HA Sideswipe together with photos >>> http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-feedback/255100-rotf-human-alliance-sideswipe.html

    Cheers!

    Hi Md Imran,

Thanks for sharing your review and photos of HA Sideswipe! :) I absolutely adore his car mode, while his robot backpack will need some getting used to.

I’ve viewed the toy review on YouTube. I think some parts of HA Sideswipe might get broken if kids or even adults handle him too roughly during transformation :(

I hear that Sgt Epps is very difficult to fit into the seat in car mode. How’s yours?

    hi!

thanks to md imran on the review, i bought HA sideswipe. It’s freak’n awesome.

btw is human alliance skidz with mikaela also available?

  8. Juliana Heng on July 31st, 2009

    Hi RJ,

Thanks for dropping by! So does the big ‘backpack’ in robot mode bother you? It seems to be the main talking point for many collectors :P

HA Skids and Mikaela aren’t here yet. Probably end of Aug 09 or in Sep 09, just my guesses :)

    Hi juliana

i don’t mind its backpack, though i would prefer it should have a body piece attached in its both sides of body waist just like in deluxe class sideswipe.

Thanks for the info on HA skids, can’t wait to get one of those!

    Hi RJ,

I guess HA Sideswipe has a huge ‘backpack’ so that the car mode will have a complete hood that is not separated into 2 halves like the Deluxe version. Hence in car mode, you can’t really tell it’s actually a ‘robot in disguise’ :)

i saw this guy at plaza singapura all the way at the top floor

  12. Juliana Heng on December 31st, 2009

    Hi Fadhil,

Yup, that’s 1 of the local collector’s toy shop that has him for sale … he has been in short supply here for the past few months…

    Hi Juliana!

I recently just bought wave 4 of Human Alliance, that is, that guy, HA Sideswipe, and Barricade.

And at first i was “meh” over HA Sideswipe, but once I opened the box…

Read the instructions, and followed it…

I noticed the instructions skipped a lot, like folding the small parts on Swipe’s waist, coz thats the horn like parts on his waist that was on the deluxe toy.

And he actually has a face under his Gundam-like facemask… Kinda looks like Prime without his mask, but Hasbro/TakaraTomy should have given a better effort on this facemask gimmick.

And actually, the legs can be extended, to make him look tall and sleek, I am not even actually bothered by the backpack at all!

Give this guy a shot, don’t believe and stick with the other reviews you see or watch online, this is a toy you should experience, and in my view, HA Sideswipe is actually a great figure, I highly recommend it! And if you have the extra, snag his wavemeate Barry too!

    Hi Nicolai,

Thank you for the HA toy reviews! :)

I also didn’t really understand all the illustrated instruction steps of my HA toys too. Luckily there are video reviews of these toys on YouTube that show all the transformation steps!

HA Sideswipe is quite common in the dept stores here now, together with HA Barricade. But collectors only want to buy at a sale. They’ve learnt their lesson of overpaying for earlier ROTF toys already :P
