LEGO 1992 Black Knights’ Castle 6086 review and for sale

I bought this LEGO 1992 Black Knights’ Castle 6086 quite a long while ago.  Then I upgraded to another complete set that comes with its original box.  Hence I’ve decided to sell off my first complete castle and minifigs set with instructions, but with no original box.

Take a look at the photos!  Condition is excellent for its age with no discolorations.  It’s quite clean too.  I have dismantled the set and packed it back into zipper bags after taking these photos.

Front view - this is a rather tall castle that is built on a square raised baseplate of the 90’s.  It comes complete with all the minfigs, horses, weapons, flags & other accessories! The drawbridge & portcullis string mechanisms work perfectly!

Top view - the raised baseplate conceals a deep & spacious dungeon, that shares the basement with a well.

Right side view - that black round part on the grey floor is the well.  The taut black string keeps the portcullis raised.  These days, plastic chains are used for the current LEGO castles.

Back view - oops, I forgot to bring down the rear drawbridge below the large dragon flag for the photoshoot! Yes this castle has a back door.  The whole castle is enclosed, not like some LEGO castles that only have a front facade and no walls behind.

Left side view - the living quarters have beautiful and colorful architecture to give variety and contrast with the grey and black castle walls.

Instructions manual - complete & in good condition!

Minifigs - 4 knights, 4 horses, weapons & accessories.  I just love the flip visor helmets of the the Black Knights!  I actually prefer the grey armor of the 90’s knights, to the shimmery silver armor designs of the recent years knights. 

Minifigs - 6 soldiers, an outlaw, a ghost, weapons & accessories.  Both the soldiers with black helmets are supposed to have the same moustached face, but 1 of mine comes in a normal classic face.

Overall this is an awesome 90’s LEGO castle set to own.  It comes with 4 knights, 4 horses (2 with beautiful bardings or horse armor), 6 soldiers, 1 outlaw & 1 ghost!  That makes 12 minifigs & 4 horses, which is a sizeable force for the castle.  Current castles are less generous with the minifigs, especially the horses!  Although I like this set, I have to make some room for my other LEGO castle sets.  Hence this set has to go.
