Movie Transformers at Toys ‘R Us sale

Today, I attended the Toys ‘R Us members’ or UOB card members only priority sale held at United Square, with a pony collector friend.  We were 9th in the queue and soon after we entered the sale area, the sale aisles became almost impassable as it was filled with shoppers of all ages, mostly mothers and male toy collectors.  I zoomed in on the Movie Transformers section and found these.  In all, I came across about 10 MOC Bonecrushers in his pale original colors.  I totally ignored the green jungle-colored versions there.

Having formed a habit of always checking the Movie Transformers sections of every departmental store for the past 1 year, I know that it is very difficult to come across the main Movie characters in the colors that they appeared in the Movie.  Naturally, I got quite excited at spotting the first MOC Bonecrusher at the sale today. Then another popped up, and another and several more in the boxes.

These Transformers packs which were originally going for SGD 26.90 each, had been marked down to SGD 16.90 each at many departmental stores in the past 2 months.  Today at the Toys ‘R Us sale, they were going for only SGD 10.00 each!  I couldn’t decide whether to pick up Bonecrusher or not since I do not collect the Deluxe versions of the Movie Transformers.  I focus only on the Transformers Legends mini figures, of which I have the complete set.  Getting Deluxe Bonecrusher will probably start an unwanted chain reaction of collecting another toyline.  That’s not what I would like to happen.

It was very hard on my emotions today when it was time to head for the cashier.  The angel and devil fought a very long drawn battle in my head as they did their best to convince with their solid arguments on why I should buy or should not buy MOC Bonecrusher.  So in the end, guess who won?

Came back again tomorrow to find out my answer!

Hehe, you didn’t miss much there. Mostly old stuff and even if there were ‘treasures’, they were mostly quickly scooped by the “professional” bargain shoppers! :P

nice catch ! i would not have hesitated..cos you are right, the original movie chars can no longer be found on shelves, and the rest of the figures are being cleared…

Bonecrusher is a cool character, though he had a short screen time, but those were some of the best scenes ! it’s just too bad Hasbro chose Brawl over Bonecrusher for a leader class version…i guess tanks sell better than whatever it was…

Well, Bonecrusher overestimated himself by taking on Optimus Prime and got outclassed by him, that’s why he got a short screen time :P

He could have lived longer if he had attacked the hapless humans in the city like Brawl. Brawl took like forever to take down…
