My Little Pony 2009 Christmas Advent Calendar

My Little Pony 2009 Christmas Advent Calendar
An Advent Calendar is a special calendar that is used to count or celebrate the days of Advent in anticipation of Christmas. Like toys, Advent Calendars were originally made for children. These days, they have become collectibles as well. I guess the concept of using a Christmas Advent Calendar is still quite a new concept here in Singapore. Toy collectors may tend to be more familiar with this practice.
Each year, some toy companies (e.g. Hasbro & LEGO) will release their toys as a Christmas Advent Calendar package. For e.g. in the My Little Pony 2009 Christmas Advent Calendar (above), the little Ponyville figures and their accessories are packed into a box with the Advent Calendar printed on it. Each date of the Calendar is a window that can be opened to reveal the little “surprises” inside. You’re supposed to open one window a day, as you countdown to Christmas. Of course the impatient ones will just remove the whole “tray” from the box to get to all the goodies at once. And that’s called “cheating”, LOL!

I just bought my lego advert calender.
Hi Hippo,
Somehow I guessed that you would buy the LEGO Advent Calendar
Is Hasbro going to have a 2009 Holiday pony? Or at least a winter-themed pony? I really miss those. Is it just me or are the store selections getting slim?
Hi Sarah,
The Christmas theme ponies have been spotted in the US (e.g. Target). Here’s one of them:
