My toy hauls from the US!
If you are a toy collector on holiday in the US, there are a number of places to find the the toys you want. Most of the time, the large departmental stores like Walmart, Cosco, K-Mart and Target offer greater selections of the typical collectible action figures and toys such as Transformers, Star Wars, G.I.Joe and My Little Pony. But the variety and quantity available at each place will vary and may not be consistent. It really depends on your toy hunting good luck to be there at the right day and time.
One thing for certain is that when you are shopping as a tourist, be very decisive on whether you want to buy the toys whenever you come across them. You may not have the time to return to the store again should you regret not buying it earlier. Usually we are quite pressed for time when on holiday as you also wish to visit the other places of interest, which can be very far away, especially in a huge country like the US.
Some toy shopping opportunities that I found during my recent trip to Los Angeles (LA) and Las Vegas are at:
Walmart at Long Beach California, FAO Schwarz (aka Toy ‘R’ Us) at Las Vegas (The Outlet Center & The Forum Shops), Universal Studios and Disneyland.

Walmart at Long Beach, California.

My toy hauls from Walmart:

Bottom row - Arctic Assault Storm Shadow & “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” Cyclops.

My toy hauls from FAO Schwarz:

Extra toy shopping tip: 1 of the toy shops at the Departure/Transit Mall of Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 2 has the 2007 Transformers the Movie (TFTM) Deluxe Bonecrusher (5-6 pieces) about 2 weeks ago while I was there. The price is at normal retail minus GST. However that shop is accessible to departing or transiting passengers only.

Great score for the toys. The price must be reasonable..Haha!!
2 of the GIJoe are rare in SG retail! Look like a good trip!
Hi deSMOnd,
It was hard to find places that sell these toys though. The shopping malls and dept stores are spaced so far apart, with many of them in the outskirts of the city area that you need a car to get you there
Hi LEon,
I picked them up on impulse though, couldn’t resist the temptation not to
Then you must treasure these few pieces as they travel all the way from the other side of the globe to Singapore..very valuable to you..HAHA!!
Hi deSMOnd,
[...] I nearly gave up having them in my collection until I found them by chance during my recent holiday trip to the US! I got Cyclops at Walmart in LA, and Iceman at FAO Schwarz in Las Vegas. Without these recent [...]
