New Comic Con Exclusive Pony for 2009?

It’s April Fool’s Day today!  This interesting thread appeared on My Little Pony Arena and stirred up excitement amongst the online My Little Pony collecting community.  Some collectors are still in doubt if the following photos show a customised pony or the official real deal coming from Hasbro soon.  Let’s take a closer look at this mystery pony.

The is the mystery pony’s right side view.  You can tell that she is painted to look like some sort of comic book character.  She is masked, wears a painted body tight costume and has the words “Wham” and “I’ll save the day!” down her hind legs and on her hindquarters respectively.

Now we flip the mystery pony over to see her left side view.  Here she is painted to look more evil like a comic book villain character.  She is also masked, wears a painted body tight costume and has the words “Grrrr” and “I’ll rule the day!” on her front leg and on her hindquarters respectively. 

So if you look at mystery pony from the side front view, you can see a bit of her 2-faced look.  Doesn’t she resemble a “Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde” kind of split personality character who is both a hero and a villain at the same time?  I like this pony design concept and by this time, most pony collectors are hoping that she is going to be the exclusive pony for this year’s San Diego Comic Convention (SDCC) , to be held in July. 

I’m also hoping that this 2-faced mystery pony is a real thing.  Only time will tell if she is and if it’s true, she’s on my pony want list for 2009!  Even if she turns out to be an April Fool’s Day joke, it’s also nice to have a bit of wishful thinking every now and then!

Updated on 6 April 2009: This 2-faced hero cum villain pony is an official product from Hasbro!  It’s likely to be the SDCC exclusive pony for this year!
