‘Play’ account review for January
I overspent on my ‘Play’ account for January by a few dollars. I set up this account 2 months ago after learning about it at a Wealth Creation seminar then. Every month I allocate 10% of my income to it. My ‘Play’ account is not just for purchasing toys, it is also for other consumer expenditures that are not ‘needs’. Hence my cosmetics, facials, haircuts, bags, accessories, and meals that cost the price of fast food meals and above, come under this account.
Clothes and shoes come under my ‘Necessities’ account because I rarely buy them unless I really need to replace old ones. I am still ‘fashionista-to-be’ and not a full-fledged one yet due to tight finances. Revamping my wardrobe will take time and should preferably be done during sales. Although sales are mainly for off-season clothes, the clothes there will at least be a few seasons ahead of the clothes I have in my wardrobe now. I rarely pay attention to fashion and come to think of it, being a full-fledged fashionsita is an expensive hobby! You need to be financially abundant to be able to afford keeping up with the latest fashion trends without going broke or just 1-2 paychecks away from being broke.
Coming back to my ‘Play’ account, my unplanned expenditures came from the 2 sets of Justice Lords 3-packs that I picked up unexpectedly from Toy ‘R Us last month. They are still MOC and I have stored them away with the rest of my Justice League collection. The alternate Flash figure I got in one of those 3-packs has some painting imperfection. Too bad that was the only 3-pack I could find in the store. I was also eyeing some Lego Necromancer sets last month but that would definitely burst my toy budget. Perhaps I could get them this month instead.
