Ponyville’s postal service accessories set II
While combing the toy sections of all the departmental stores in Orchard Road yesterday, my pony collector pal and I spotted the only one of this Ponyville Postal Service accessories 2-pack at a departmental store. I was surprised that it was the only piece of the new series there. It’s either the rest had been sold out, or this was really an odd piece mixed with the shipment of the older series.
Then came along a mother and her young daughter and they proceeded to rummage through all the Ponyville accessories sets on the shelf. They spoke in either Indonesian or Tagalog, hence we presumed that they were tourists. Somehow I sensed that they were eyeing this postal service accessories set that I was holding in my hands and showing my pony collector pal.
I handed that only postal service set to the mother and she thanked me. Then they left, presumely to pay for it. Maybe her daughter spotted the set earlier and had gone off to fetch her mom, only to return to the Ponyville section and find her ‘targetted’ toy in the hands of someone else. I think she got into a state of ‘panic’ at that time because it was the ‘only’ piece around.
Anyway don’t think that I’m that noble to give up a toy to a child who wants it. I still don’t have Ponyville Sweetie Belle and Cheerilee, and this accessories set is indeed on my want list. I didn’t buy that set because it failed 2 important criterias that I set for my toy purchases.
Firstly, it’s expensive at SGD 19.90 and there was no sale yesterday. And secondly, the 2 Ponyville figures in that set were flawed. Sweetie Belle looked like she had a small surface of her ear ’scraped off’ by a knife. Hence I would have put back the set anyway even if the mother and daughter hadn’t come along.
My pony collector pal was sure that there will be more of this series in the coming weeks. Therefore we will have our chances to get them. I definitely only want buy them during a sale. Usually you get around 20% discounts during storewide sales and that does add up to a lot of savings. Besides, the departmental stores will be having the year-end storewide sales soon!
