ROTF Deluxe Jolt toy review

For the latest wave of Deluxe Transformers Revenge of the Fallen (ROTF) movie toys to hit our local departmental stores, Deluxe Jolt is observed to be the second hot favourite among fans and collectors here, after the Ice Cream Truck.

ROTF Deluxe Jolt is on my want list and I almost got him last week, but nearly all the 10 pieces at the store had some form of painting defects on them.  So I passed them all and decided to get him when I chance upon a satisfactory piece.  As such, I realise that he’s quite as hard to find as the Ice Cream Truck!

In robot mode, ROTF Deluxe Jolt looks to have very limited articulation for his head, arms and legs.  His door panels tend to get in the way of his arms in robot mode.  But despite his shortcomings, he tends to grow on you once you see him in person and handle him.  If you are planning to complete your ROTF movie cast collection, then he’s surely on your want list!

Since Jolt transforms into a car, I have a feeling that he’ll probably make it to the Human Alliance (HA)series someday.  His likely human partner could be Leo.  Though they didn’t have interaction with each other in the movie (not that I can recall), most of the other HA partnerships weren’t a ‘right’ match anyway.  It’ll be interesting to see a HA Jolt, and I’ll want him!

I bought Jolt at OG Chinatown yesterday. The articulation of the arms are still ok. The head cannot turn left and right. If you follow “every steps” based on the manual instruction for the transformation of the legs, the robot is not able to stand properly. So, I did a minor change on the transformation of its legs. Now, Jolt is able to stand properly. Will post the photos this weekend. Overall, I prefer Jolt in vehicle mode as the overall body design of Jolt in robot mode is kind of “weird”, the head, the colour of some body parts and the figure looks short. I don’t really him. Because Jolt was in the movie, I bought it. Otherwise, Jolt is out of my collection.

    Hi deSMOnd,

I like his car mode better too while his robot mode is still passable. The light blue plastic colors look a little off on him in robot mode. Nevertheless, I look forward to seeing your Jolt photos and review soon! :D
