Singapore My Little Pony meet Aug 08

We had a mini My Little Pony meet at a fellow pony collector’s home today.  There were only 3 of us as another collector wasn’t able to join us.  The host of the meet had just returned to Singapore from the US.  He had gone there to attend the annual My Little Pony Fair on Rhode Island in June.  Overall he spent 2 months on holiday in the US!  After hearing about the fun he had in the US, the 3 of us briefly discussed on going to attend the My Little Pony Fair 2009, to be held in Los Angeles next year.  How exciting!

The highlight of our Singapore My Little Pony Meet was when my pony collector pal showed off to us his massive pony harvests from the US.  He came back with a luggage filled to the brim with pony stuff, plus he had to ship back another large carton full of ponies separately.  The ponies were not just harvested from the My Little Pony Fair, but also from the retail stores there, plus from ebay.  Shipping within the US is really much cheaper, when compared to the international shopping rates that we overseas buyers have to contend with.

My Little Pony Fair 2008 Exclusive Pony

Toy Observations / Toy review:

My pony collector pal also came back with a My Little Pony Fair 2008 Exclusive ‘Providence’ Pony for each of us.  It comes in a nice and cute little pink box and I’m leaving mine Mint-in-Box (MIB) as I currently have another loose one.  According to the pony collectors’ feedback that he gathered during the fair, this year’s exclusive pony is not very exciting and the pinkness is so overwhelming such that the silver swirl designs on the body don’t really stand out.

The pony in the above official photo by Hasbro looks better than the real thing.  There were more leftover stocks at the end of the fair than last year’s exclusive pony.  Anyway, it’s still a special pony to us collectors!  We still appreciate the support that Hasbro gives to pony collectors by making this exclusive pony for us and I’m pleased to have it in my pony collection!
