Stage for the Hot Rocks

The leading rock band of my toyfics world, the Hot Rocks were seen checking out their new stage for their coming weekend concert. The Hot Rocks, consisting of lead singer Hot Shot (black color), R.E.V. (yellow color) and X-Brawn (grey & green color), have been the most popular and most sensational hit among my toys for over a year already.

While clutter clearing my room, I came across some cardboard pieces which came into my home as packaging material for some items purchased.  As the Hot Rocks were in need of a new venue for their concert this weekend, I decided to see if I could arrange the pieces to form a stage for them.  I drew inspiration from the T-shaped stage I saw in Hannah Montana concerts and did up something similar for the Hot Rocks.

The Hot Rocks had been using my lap top as their stage on previous occasions but I don’t fancy them stepping all over my keyboard, even though they placed an annual report on top of the keyboard for protection.  When they get so engrossed in their music and dance during the concerts, they can stomp rather hard and I worry for my lap top, even though the Hot Rocks are very light weight toys.

The stage foundation will be improvised and be made secure for the concert nights.  The side panels will be removed during the concert for all-round view.  The side panels were there during the rehearsal for ‘privacy’ but a passing mini convoy of Bburago Lamborghinis and Maisto Audi chanced upon the Hot Rocks’ rehearsal and took a photo with their idols. 

Scourge of the Decepticons (below extreme right), is the manager for the Hot Rocks.  Together they form the “Dream Team”.  These 4 mini Transformers joined my toy collection some years ago when they were released in the departmental stores here.  I picked up Hot Shot and R.E.V. as a pair from a departmental store, while X-Brawn and Scourge were bought as a pair from a toy shop in the then Clarke Quay flea market some years back. 

The Hot Rocks were formerly Transformers Autobots who were destined to fight an endless ‘war’ with the Decepticons.  However, they did not wish to fight with Scourge all day as it was getting ‘nowhere’.  Hence they decided to take the path less trodden and became super rock stars instead.  They have not turned back since then. 

Now they even have a girlfriend each.  Hot Shot is with a red Ferrari, R.E.V. with a matching yellow Lamborghini, and X-Brawn with a silver Cadilac.  The babes are all Hot Wheels cars that I got some years back too.  They initially started out as the background singers and dancers to the Hot Rocks.  Love inevitably blossomed amongst them.  Scourge is still single though.  He’s too busy making money to date.
