Tagged: 6 random things about myself
Today, I find myself tagged by LEon for this game where we toy bloggers share a bit about ourselves apart from that we collect toys.
The Rules of the Tagging Game are:
1) Link to the person who tagged you.
2) Post the rules on your blog.
3) Write six random things about yourself.
4) Tag six people at the end of your post and link to them.
5) Let each of the six persons know they’ve been tagged and leave a comment on their blog.
6) Let the tagger know when your entry is up.
Here are my input -
1) Current craze:
Re-learning French so that I can sing some of my favourite Disney songs in this language. I managed for this French version of “Reflection” from Disney’s Mulan. Now I just have to check my French-English dictionary to recall all the vocabulary used in the song lyrics!
I’ve heard the Chinese version of this same song (movie version) and it’s not as well translated. Many of the translated lines do not rhyme and hence it sort of ’spoils’ the song. However the Chinese pop version of “Reflection” (used only at the ending credits) sung by Coco Li Wen is nice!
2) X-Men Fan Fictions:
I stopped reading the X-Men comics many years ago (since after the famous Onslaught saga) as I began to dislike the Manga-like art style used by Marvel. However the X-Men storyline continued on in my mind in the form of fan fictions. Many of the X-Men characters that I collect follow my own different storyline from the comics that sometimes, I forget the real story for them, haha!

But I don’t care, they’re my toys so they follow my story! Currently its the second generation of the X-Men team (continuing from the adventures of the original X-Men team seen in the animated series from the 90’s). The circumstances they live in is a little different from their parents, who have mostly gone ‘missing’ since the Onslaught saga and the story’s still evolving!
3) Lego Knights Toy Fictions:

My Lego knights toy collection also have a storyline, invented by moi about more than 10 years ago when I first started collecting them. I have main characters for the story. There are supposed to be 9 continuous stories and I finished the 7th one many years ago. I’m having a bit of writer’s block of the 8th story and I’ve also conceptualized the 9th story.
Basically I just needed to look at the catalog photos to get the story ideas. But somehow, a lot of my imaginative and creative flair faded away over the years, must be due to age…
4) TV Habits:

I watch some Hong Kong TVB drama series on my cable TV, especially those on the prime time slots from 8 - 10 pm on weekdays. If I don’t follow the drama series during this time slot, I’ll watch the live US market news on CNBC. I watch lesser TV on weekends but I do catch “The Suze Orman Show” and “Managing Asia” on CNBC if I can, for some personal finance and business managing tips!
5) Shopping Haunts:

Orchard Road, DVD stores and sometimes bookstores. Toys and DVDs are currently at the top order of my shopping list. I have slowed down on books already. Clothes, shoes, bags and accessories are bought as and when I need them. Same for the technological gadgets like the mobile phone and laptop.
6) Gawking Habits:

Real Lamborghinis and other fast cars seen along Orchard Road and other parts of Singapore, if I’m lucky enough to encounter them. Big houses too, especially if I can see the super cars parked inside their compounds! These are just dreams, I don’t know if I’m fated to achieve them all, so I keep dreaming and continue to figure out the strategies to get them all!
And that completes my list of 6 random things about myself! Now for my turn to tag other bloggers!

Thanks for being a great sport.
Hope to see your lego storyline up here soon.
Your shopping habit are not far from me. Just that I window shop more often than the actual buying.
Hi LEon,
You’re welcome!
I also aim to window shop more than actual buying. I hate feeling that ‘after-purchase’ guilt
