Takara EZ ROTF Legends Devastator toys review

Besides the above video, here’s a cool Japanese blog which features the detailed photos of Takara EZ Transformers Revenge of the Fallen (ROTF) Legends Devastator, and his individual ROTF Legends Constructicons that combine to make him!  Yes, the ROFT Legends Constructicons can transform between their vehicle and robot modes, a feat that Supreme class ROTF Devastator has yet to accomplish!

ROTF Legends Devastator stands up to be the height of an average ROTF Deluxe action figure, or slightly taller than ROTF Deluxe Skids in robot mode.  Some claim that he’s not very tall, but seriously how tall do you expect the Legends Devastator to be?

If you know the average robot height of a ROTF Legends toy, it does work out to be about a ROTF Deluxe robot height when Legends Devastator ( which I affectionally call ‘Baby Dev’) is formed.  Furthermore, Baby Dev doesn’t stand upright but hunches!

These 7 little ROTF ‘dwarfs’ have been highly anticipated by fans and collectors for a while now.  The biggest question on everyone’s mind is whether these little guys are going to be Takara-released only, or also available through Hasbro’s ROTF toyline?  Only time will tell.

Anyway, the good news is that most collector toys shops here who have been selling ROTF toys, are taking pre-orders for all the 7 Takara EZ ROTF Legends Constructicon toys that make up Baby Dev.  The ROTF Legends Constructicons will come individually packaged like the regular Hasbro ROTF Legends toys in the departmental stores.

Hence if you like, you may want to pre-order Baby Dev at your favourite or regular collector toy shops today!  The expected market price for each ROTF Legends Constructicons should be around the retail price (SGD 11.90) of the regular ROTF Legends toys you find in our departmental stores.  If you are lucky, you might get a better price, depending the collector toy shop you pre-order from!  Till then, happy ROTF toy hunting!

FYI, U-toys at CSC has brought in some Takara EZ Devastators for pre-order collectors last Saturday :P

    Hi deSMOnd,

Thanks for the info! I dropped by U-toys at CSC yesterday but didn’t see any ROTF ‘Baby Constructicons’ there. I think the pre-order customers collected all of them.

Anyway, I also pre-ordered ‘Baby Dev’ and his ETA is early next month, or perhaps even earlier! :D

Did you also pre-order a set of Baby Dev from your regular toy shop? :)

Juliana, I am aiming for Supreme Devastator so skip the EZ Legend Devastator. One thing good about EZ Dev is that each of them can transform into both vehicle and robot modes too. Whereas Supreme Dev only in Vehicle Mode..

    Hi deSMOnd,

If Supreme Dev goes on clearance for like less than half price, I’ll be tempted to get him too. But somehow my instincts tell me to wait. Hasbro has like 3 years leading to the 3rd TF movie, so they still have time to design and produce a Supreme Dev that has the functions of EZ Dev, or even more! Meanwhile, Baby Dev will suffice for now :)

    Hi Bany,

Cool! I can’t wait for mine to arrive! Supreme Dev is arriving in our local stores on 27 Jul 09 (Mon). A friend of mine pre-ordered his Supreme Dev through TRU. He’s very excited & can’t wait to see it :D

    Hi Bany,

Cool, you got your set, congrates! The price at your place converts to around the same as our local price :) Have you opened your set yet? :P

This set was available last week and over the weekend at some collector toy shops, mostly to pre-order buyers & they were all sold out by yesterday! It’s the excess EZ Legends Long Haul, Mixmaster & Scavenger that are left & sold individually.

I expect to see some sets appear in our secondary markets soon…

    Hi again Juliana,

Haven’t opened them yet, i ran out of the plastic boxes that i use to store opened toys (they’re originally intended for diecast cars (my other collection), but fit most Legends class figures in vehicle mode, i guess the 1:55 or 1:43 scale boxes would fit the constructicons). :)

Same here, the excess EZ Legends are the only ones left at the store i got my set from. :)

    Hi Bany,

You’re one of the lucky collectors to have secured a set of the Legends Constructicons. Word on the street is that this is a one-off shipment and new stocks are not certain… :P
