Stage 5/5 of collecting toys: The Casual Stage

I call this stage ‘Casual’ because by now, the toy collector would have acquired all the common and even rare, exclusive, limited editions and variant pieces of the toylines.  They have gone past the Nirvana and Guru stages.  There are hardly any new toys to chase after so frequently.

It does not mean that their interest in toy collecting has waned.  It just means that the pace of collecting has slowed down and their focus has shifted more to certain specific aspects of the toy hobby such as customizing, organizing online events like toy photos competitions for the online toy community; or physical events for toy collectors who live nearby to gather, trade toys and have fun discussing their toy hobbies etc.

Upon reaching this stage, many toy collectors remain here indefinitely.  Some Casual collectors prefer to maintain a lower profile on the forums.  They keep up with the latest toys news but they only read and hardly post their comments or participate in discussions.  Other Casual collectors would review their toy collections, re-arrange their toy displays or refurbish their toy rooms.  Some would even start collecting other toylines and hence repeat the 5 stages all over again.

Then there are also collectors who decide to let go their toy collections to move on in life due to new commitments.   Their collections would usually be sold to fellow collectors in the toy community, or be directly auctioned off on Ebay.
