Toy collection updates

I bought 2 of the latest Core 7 My Little Pony variant characters today. They are the pegasus pony Starsong, and the unicorn pony Sweetie Belle.  I have already removed them from their packaging and they both look gorgeous!  I find that this set of variant Core 7 ponies are even prettier than their original regular versions. I am also pleased that Hasbro had included brushes with this set of ponies to groom their hair with, unlike the previous sets that didn’t come with brushes.

Truthfully, I know most pony collectors do not use the G3 pony brushes to groom their ponies’ hair because the “teeth” of the G3 brushes are simply too thick to brush with effectively.  I personally use a toy brush with much finer “teeth” to groom all my ponies, as well as She-Ra dolls, and other toys with brushable hair.  My own toy brush does a much better job.  Nevertheless, having a brush packaged with the ponies is still a must for the little kids, especially for those getting their first pony toy.  It also makes the pony package more ‘complete’.

I’ll take a photo of my new ponies tomorrow before I store them away.  I was thinking that the new Pinkie Pie with a bold blue eye make up makes her resemble JEM.  She can become the pony version of JEM in my herd, although Starsong supposed to be the rock star pony in Ponyville. The additional intricate facial and extended symbol designs on the new ponies make them look more like pop stars and party animals.  I could get a couple more of these new Core 7 ponies and start a Ponyville Rock Band to rival the current Rock Band, the “Hot Rocks” in my toy collection.  A little competition should up the quality of songs and performance in my Toyland…
