Transformers Legends Movie Ratchet at last!
This is the green-colored Ratchet figure that I had needed to complete my collection of Transformers Movie Legends set. It took me almost a year of searching through the departmental stores and China Square Central flea market to finally get him at my desired price.
I actually spotted green Ratchet MOC at a toy store in China Square Central many months ago but I couldn’t bear to fork out SGD 15.00 for him. I couldn’t understand why a minor character with such unattractive colors and a blocky looking robot mode would cost so much. Nearly all the online reviews on the Transformer Legends series gave negative comments about Ratchet’s everything. And here I was in Singapore hunting high and low for him to complete my set.
Well I finally found him last Sunday at China Square Central, hanging from a rack outside another toy store. He came on a card where the plastic bubble had been ripped out. The seller assured me that the toy had never been taken out of its package and only the card was damaged.
I peeked into the bubble and saw that the wires which were supposed to secure Ratchet to the bubble were missing. So obviously he had been taken out before and put back. Someone even stapled part of the bubble onto the card. Anyway, he was only going for SGD 5.00 so it wasn’t too bad. Though I could have bargained for a lower price, I decided to just get him.
Last year, I bought Optimus Prime, Jazz, Bumblebee, Megatron, Barricade and Starscream as part of a 6-piece box set, plus Blackout in single pack. Then this year I went on to acquire Ironhide and Desert Blackout 2-pack, Battle-damaged Bumblebee and Scorponok 2-pack, Rescue Ratchet and Brawl 2-pack, and Bonecrusher single pack. I don’t colllect the repaints unless they came in 2-packs with the characters I want. With Sunday’s acquisition of green Ratchet, my Movie Transformers Legends is complete at last!
