“Wolverine and the X-Men” action figures in Singapore

X-Men Origins: Wolverine, plus Wolverine & the X-Men action figures.

On the same day that I spotted the Dragonball Evolution toys in Singapore, I also came across these toylines based on the upcoming “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” movie, and a new cartoon series known as “Wolverine & and the X-Men”.  At SGD 18.90 each, these action figures are also rather pricey like the Dragonball Evolution action figures.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie action figures.

The X-Men movie action figures look quite realistic when you view them close up.  Too bad my 2-yr old mobile phone ran out of memory space to snap more photos.  I really prefer these figures to be larger, at least at 5-inches tall.  The above toys stand at just under 4-inches tall.  My larger X-Men action figures from the 90’s would have easily ‘trampled over’ these new guys!

The X-Men action figures based on the cartoon series look so cute!  I only saw Cyclops and Wolverine while the rest were presumably sold out.  On their backcards, Magneto and Iceman look quite cool too!  It reminds me of what made me start collecting the X-Men action figures based on the 90’s X-Men animated series.  I just prefer their ‘cartoon’ looks to their current ’comic book’ looks, which the popular Marvel Legends action figures are based on.

I hope there will be a sale on all these X-Men action figures soon.  Then I can add some of them to my X-Men collection.  I have not bought X-Men related toys since their movies came out in Singapore, which is really quite a while already!

At that price point, the figures are not really worth it. They also lack accessories. Comparing with Star Wars and GI joe (which are also 3.5″)they do pale in comparison…

    Hi LittlePlasticMan,

I’m hoping to get some of them at a sale. Don’t know if the stores will still restock the popular characters for me to buy at discount :P

It looks like people are buying these X-Men toys. I find most of their racks either quite empty or left with mostly the Wolverines…

    Hey,

Just wanna check with you, where did you take the first picture at(the one that had the X-Men Origins: Wolverine figure in a black box)? & nowadays, i can hardly find figures from ‘Wolverine and the X-Men’… The really rare one is NightCrawler… Also, When is Wave 3 and 4 arriving in Singapore?

    Thanks!

    Hi Jeremy,

Welcome to my blog! The first photo was taken at Metro Paragon and I remember they just stocked up recently on the all the Wolverine movie and cartoon figures. Almost every departmental store has new stocks of these toylines now. The challenge though is to find figures with good painting.

Nightcrawler is from wave 2 of the wolverine cartoon toys and is not out in Singapore yet. I don’t know when the later waves of toys are coming to Singapore, so I check out the stores every week :)

So you collect X-Men toys too? Which ones have you bought so far? :)

    HAHA. Yes i do.

I’m hoping to get cyclops, ice-man and one more wolverine from Wave 3 of the movie http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=HMV78705C

& how often and when do stores like ToysRus stock up their figures? btw, i checked out BHG at Bishan and sadly, they don’t carry any x-men figures, AT ALL. :(

    Hi Jeremy,

I don’t know how often TRU stocks up their figures. Even their staff may not know. Anyway a lot of store personnel at departmental stores dislike toy collectors because we can be so ‘picky’.

You should have seen some of their faces when you ask them to unlock the display cabinets to view the toys. It’s like we’re inconveniencing them…

    YEAH.
Some of them really give you ‘attitude’. Even when on the phone…

[...] Waves 1 & 2 are already on clearance sale at some departmental stores here at SGD 10.00 for any 2 figures, or at SGD 5.00 per figure (policy varies from store to store, & with limited variety to choose from).  As for Wave 3, it did not make it to our shores.  As such, there is no confirmation that wave 4 (below) come here too. Hi Rulan,

Thank you for visiting my blog. I regret to inform that I do not stock up on Marvel figures to sell. The previous ones I sold off were from my personal collection that I downsized. I don’t collect this toyline anymore.
